Doughboys came up against a forward line of pace at Oadby, who were no doubt inspired by their midweek thrashing of Rugby Borough.

Doughboys went a goal down from an explosive run through the centre of the park, and but for a couple of outstanding saves from goalkeeper Ash it could have been more than 1-0 at half time.

Second half the Doughboys were more solid and kept their shape better. However? they succumbed to a second goal on the counter.

Changes from the bench immediately provided more stability, and increased possession resulted in another run at pace on the Oadby goal by Neo. He was fouled in the box and Brett Solkhon converted a penalty after 75 minutes.

The increased intensity of the Doughboys play and their dominance inspired by Solkhon and O’Connor, resulted in several corners, with substitute Lloyd Buckby netting the equaliser on 88mins, after his injury lay off.

The Doughboys could have nicked it if they had been more ruthless with one golden chance, but it ended 2-2 and they did well to come back from 2-0 down.

Next up – away at Eynesbury Rovers on Tuesday -7.45pm, followed by home action next Saturday in the League Cup at home to Melton at 3pm.
